Pre-cut stacked labels are the favoured choice for many products in bottles and jars, particularly for high rates of production. The most effective method of application is to use a rotary labelling machine equipped with one or more rotary labelling aggregates.
The stop-motion video illustrates and explains the operation of a typical labelling aggregate using cold glue to apply one label to cylindrical containers. Hot-melt glue can be used when required for technical reasons. Several labelling aggregates can be positioned to apply multiple labels. Different label wiping methods are used depending on the shape of the container and position of labels.
Other configurations of rotary labelling aggregates are used to apply glued, pre-cut wrap-around labels and glued, reel-fed wrap-around labels to cylindrical bottles, jars and cans.
