Labels wrapped around the entire circumference of a container are the favoured choice for many products in bottles and jars. They can be applied using a self-adhesive (pressure sensitive) label applicator, but for high rates of production the most effective method is to use a rotary labelling machine to apply labels with hot-melt glue.

The stop-motion video illustrates operation of a rotary machine applying pre-cut labels to cylindrical containers using rollers to apply strips of hot-melt glue to the container body. Glue jets can also be used.

An alternative method of applying wrap-around labels with hot-melt glue uses reel-fed labels which are cut and glued at the labelling station before transfer to the container.
